BIOGRAPHY

Yann Cléry is a French Guyanese artist based in Paris.
He is what we call an artistic chameleon: he fits in all styles.
And if we know him mostly as a flutist and singer or rapper Mc, he also tried his hand at the art of the stage as an
actor and dancer in the Cie le Monte-Charge in 2006 and Hapax in 2007.

This versatility surely explains why he is so comfortable and explosive on stage. When he's on the magic square, he deploys both energy and sensuality that leaves no one indifferent.

For more than 15 years he has shared the stage with artists as such as UHT° (drum & bass),
Booster & Sandra NKaké (electro jazz), The Jazz Liberatorz (rap), Emmanuel Bex (jazz) or Jamalski (ragga jungle) as a singer, chorister and/or flautist.
He now collaborates with the bands Chlorine Free (funk/electro), and
Mo'Kalamity (roots reggae) and plays in the biggest venues and festivals.

He founds the group WHY Cie and produces the album Idealz in 2010 then the EP Fever in 2013.

In addition, Yann has been exploring the roots of Guyanese music for about ten years, bringing it a new modernity, with the will to make it known nationally. He is at the origin of several
original creations: "Visions de Guyane", a show for young people, "Witongo" with the Bushinengés of the group Duracel in St Laurent du Maroni in Guyana, "Potomitan" with Yannick Théolade and his martial art the Djokan.

Yann Cléry released at the end of 2017 his 1st album under his own name
MOTOZOT, hailed by enthusiastic critics.

Always playing on surprise, he is currently working on his new project Yann Solo between broken beat, jazz and electro only accompanied by machines on stage.

is now embarking on a solo adventure, soberly entitled
YANN SOLO. Nothing to do here with space opera, even if like a Jedi, Yann dexterously handles his laser flûte and skilfully tames the machines that accompany him in this musical production that offers us 12 exceptional tracks.
